Pop!

I'm guessing that even after Hurricane Sandy there might still be a few bubbles on this hill from Saturday's shoot. Great crew, great models, great weather, great fun! More to come. 

    

 

Whoa!

So I stole my friend's teenage daughter yesterday for a quick test shoot. Just me and her. One hour. And holy smokes — I think it's safe to say that every boy in her high school knows she exists. Plus, not only is she beautiful, she's as sharp as a tack. Whoa! 
   

Beautiful.

I was lucky to spend a beautiful Autumn day with some beautiful teenagers. They were both so glad I didn't make them jump in the pond like I did to the poor little girl I shot the weekend before. Happy Monday!

Two Birds 2012

This is not just a photographer putting your child in a chair and taking their picture. Not even close! 
   
It's a wardrobe stylist having cool clothes ready when your child arrives, letting them play dress-up and be silly. It's a hair and make-up artist ready to curl, straighten or tease your child's hair and then put a glow in their cheeks. And then you've got a photographer whose energy rivals a 3 year old's ready with her camera.

Autumn

Go ahead and get bored with me all you want. I know I repeat myself with every season but this really is the most wonderful time of the year! And just so you know, this photo was not retouched. These colors are absolutely true to the actual leaves.   
   

Field trip.

So I threw myself on a bus yesterday for a field trip to Shelburne Farm to go apple picking with my son's preschool. Well there was definitely a lot of picking going on — and I don't mean just the apples. (refer to the first pic please)

   

I'll apologize in advance for posting so many pics. I usually don't but I just couldn't resist these cute little dirty, happy faces. Some of these photos are with my mark iii and some with my iphone. Hopefully you can tell the difference. We weren't there long but it was long enough to tire the little ones out!

TWO BIRDS: The Stylists

The kids don't come to this event to see me, the photographer. I'm okay with that. They come for the "star treatment." They come for the stylists.They want to get their hair styled and their cheeks to glow. They come bouncing through the door excited to see what clothes the stylist has brought for them. And that's the cool part — the wardrobe stylists find out a week in advance who the families are, they see photographs of the kids, get their sizes, and then go shopping for clothes to fit that child specifically. It's pretty cool! The stylists make the kids feel like rockstars!! Not me. They're amazing!
