The second we put super capes on these children, they immediately began flying over me, up to the ceiling, off the walls…. ahh, the power of a super cape.

They needed very serious, professional head shots but that was hard to get — these were some of the funniest, un-serious people I've ever photographed. Too bad I can't show you the behind-the-scenes shots!

So I directed and shot this spot. Best shoot ever: kittens, puppies and babies, oh my! More Cuties tv spots, brand content, stills and behind-the-scenes pics to come later. Including pics of big burly guys on set turning to mush when a little itty-bitty puppy licks their cheek.

   

Cool.

Working on some cool, fun stuff lately. Especially this bubble video shoot (video coming soon). I wanted to share this pic though — we thought this was cool: all the bubbles were landing around this little tired model and they weren't popping! She just laid there, content as could be, as the bubbles rested around her. It was magical. 
   

A nice surprise.

Dodging people and suitcases after flying home from our Thanksgiving holiday last night, I catch a glimpse of an ad I did for Blue Cross Blue Shield. I said "Hey I shot that" and my two sons began to dance and sing under the billboard completely disregarding the holiday traffic around them. Gotta love kids!

Ten Puppies

I cannot believe I had to tolerate such horrible working conditions on set last Friday! The licking, the kissing and the snuggling was just too much to bear.  Too much!
   

Casting Call

I hate missing casting calls with babies! The wonderful team at Viewfinder Productions were finding me some cute happy babies for an upcoming shoot. At least I get to watch tons of video tonight of the little ones, that's almost as good. Almost.

It's hard spending the majority of this beautiful day indoors putting the final touches on a new video. At least the video is of outdoor scenes. [ new motion and promos unveiling this week | be sure to check your in-box and your doorstep ]

Editing.

I made a chunk of videos in my years as an Art Director. Brand essence videos for clients. New business videos for pitches. And so on. In all those years I did not edit the video. I concepted, I directed, I tweaked... but I was never the one editing the lengths of flippin footage. Until now. And not until now did I truly understand and now appreciate what goes into editing. It's a lot of long, tedious work — multiplied by days. It's insanity. I will not edit another of my videos. Ever. I'm saying it here. I mean really, how many different angles of worms in a bucket did I really need to capture?!

Mother's Day photo shoot

Man have I been slacking off on the blog posts! I've been working a lot lately. More to come on that later. But today is May 1st and on that day every year I start taking names for my Two Birds Mother's Day shoot where one single mother has a chance to receive a professional photoshoot with me. Please email me your name if you're interested. I will pull one name from a hat on Mother's Day. It's simple. Very much the opposite of your life if you're a single mom! Looking down.

As I reorganized and reevaluated all my new photography for my website recently, I noticed that this "always looking up" kind of girl takes a lot of pictures looking down. Winter Mornings

Some mornings I sneak away with one of my sons before school. Yesterday morning was one of those times. My three year old helped remind me how much I love Winters in New England. We ran down hills. Had a snowball fight. But mostly my son loved shaking snow off the branches onto mommy and her camera.
