Happy Apples

Wow, I've been off the radar. My last post was from August 2017, that's crazy! I've been busy and didn't even realize how busy I guess. I've had a chunk of photography shoots, a handful of video shoots and some collaborations with some non-profits going on! I'm trying to get a new website up and running and some promotional pieces out the door... I seriously don't know how other working mothers/photographers/directors update their blog so flippin often. That's impressive!

Anyway, I've got lots of new work to share over the next few weeks but my favorite thing to share is some new work with some incredibly creative people. And creative dog! These guys make me look good. Take a peek:

Happy Summer!

Where did Spring go? I will have a lot more to post from my Haiti trip, a few awesome shoots, some new motion work and new promos. But for now, I'm off to backpack in the Grand Tetons. If I never post again you'll know I got too close to some bear cubs and got eaten by Mama Bear. Hope this photo sums up what you hope to accomplish this weekend.Have a great 4th of July!

Yay! Spring!

Take a HAPPY break on this first day of Spring and enjoy these “GARDENING TIPS FROM A 3 YEAR OLD."
http://vimeo.com/channels/gardeningwithkids

As I watched my youngest son decapitate the dahlias in my garden with a tennis racquet, it occurred to me: this kid just sees the world differently than me. To him a pumpkin is a soccer ball. Freshly picked tomatoes deserve applause and celebratory dances. And it’s okay to fill your pockets with worms to give them a better home in a nicer part of the garden. So I decided to style, shoot and edit a video series of my 3 year old son trashing and celebrating my garden. All I had to do was grow this beautiful space, a little hidden oasis on a busy Boston street, and then let Ollie tear into it.

Be sure to take a look. And if you need any content shot, edited or both — give me a shout. If you need someone to spit on your weeds, mow your pool or relocate your worms, please call my son.

HAPPY Spring!

Cheers to 2014!

Each year I shoot and design some sort of 'thank-you' gift for my clients. One year it was a calendar of a baby's naked bum doing different things; the next year were door tags — again of naked kids; last year was a tripod with a picture of one of my son's heads laying on my other son's bum (at least there were clothes involved that year)... you get the picture. But this year I've decided to take the classier route and send a respectable 'thank you' gift. Sad and boring, I know.
And if you're feeling left out and depressed about not getting my gifts every January, there is a way to remedy that — hire me. Cheers!

Take a HAPPY break

Behind the promotional series "Take a happy break!"

HOW IT STARTED:
Many people over the past few years have told me "I feel so happy when I visit your website. It makes me feel good." Immediately I thought how nice that I can give them a little 'happy break' in their crazy day. I was in the advertising world for a decade—sitting in an office all day and a lot of nights and even on weekends. Sitting in meetings after meetings. It's tough! Really tough! It's one crazy day after another with so few breaks. I get it. So the "Take a HAPPY break." series began last year.

Take a HAPPY break. Blow bubbles.
Firstly, I mailed out and hand-delivered bubbles to approximately 50 specific creatives in and around Boston and NYC. The bubbles were to promote a new gallery of bubbles imagery I had recently shot. Click here to view this work: http://www.kimlowe.com/KIMLOWEPHOTO_buuubbbbllles.pdf

Take a HAPPY break. Plant something.
Then came the tomato seedlings which was to draw attention to my new video series "Gardening Tips from a 3 Year Old." I grew these seedlings in my cellar with the help of my 3 year old son, the star of the videos and then delivered them around Boston. And sometimes I had him deliver them with me -- up the cute factor. Click here to view this series: http://vimeo.com/channels/gardeningwithkids

Take a HAPPY break. Eat something sweet.
And then, a couple months ago, I hand-delivered crates of Cuties clementines to very specific creatives and agencies to promote my new photography and tv spots for Cuties clementines. To view the tv spots, follow this link: http://www.kimlowe.com/#/motion

And it's still on. I've got a couple more "happy breaks" to share. Watch your desk.
